Time to Edit 💻

Once I finished filming a the scenes for my music video I checked all of the shots we took to make sure I was set and had everything I needed. Once I had everything, I took my SD card and placed it into the SD card reader that is automatically on my laptop. I dumped all of my footage on a folder that I created on my desktop and copied all of it onto that folder. Once it finished dumping I checked to see if all of my footage moved onto the folder and it did. I will be doing my editing on my computer at home. I was able to convince my parents to purchase Pinnacle Studios because there was a 10 dollar off sale going on. I also started to get irritated by the school computers being slow, dying, and lagging. On my laptop I noticed how fast and efficient Pinnacle Studios works on my computer. I downloaded Pinnacle Studios over Thanksgiving break so I was able to edit over the break but, sadly I didn't because I was sleeping in the whole break. I was able to start editing on Monday when we came back to school from Winter break and I was back on the grind.
What I did first when editing was import all of my footage onto Pinnacle Studios which didn't take a while like it would have in class. After all the footage imported I decided was shots I wanted my music video to be. I decided that I will use the end of the song and shots that corresponds to that part of the song. I had to cut or trim much of the scenes because it was longer than one minute. Once I cut the shots I wanted it ended being exactly one minute and fourteen seconds. Which is the exact amount I wanted my music video to be. Once I finished editing the shots and putting it together, I opened up YouTube and a mp3 link converter so that I can save the music onto my computer. I copied the link and pasted it into the mp3 converter site and I was able to save the song onto my computer under Music and now I will have it saved in case something deletes or happens. I went onto Pinnacle Studios and added the song into the background. But before I did, I made sure that all the shots and scenes together on AV Track 2 was muted of sound.
Editing for me was super easy and fun since I was playing my music and editing. Although I am not finished with editing my Music video I plan to finish over the weekend and turn it in before the deadline through email. This is the first time that I actually enjoyed the editing process since the commercial project. I hope that for future filming projects I will have the same feeling and enjoyment for the editing process. Since I was working alone this whole music video project I definitely felt a type of freedom and could let my creativity fully let go during this project. So far with what I have edited I'm really happy with the results. The music video so far is everything I visioned it to be. The only thing I have to still focus on during my editing is to align the music with the dance just like how I wanted the dance to go with the song. But other than that I will be finished with editing my music video and I could export it onto my folder located on my desktop. Once I finish, I will turn in my Music video project and all I can focus on Monday is my CCR that will be due on December 11.

Finally Filming 🙌

During my Thanksgiving break I was able to actually start filming with the camera and tripod. I made sure to finish all my filming on Wednesday, November 27 so that I wouldn't have to film in the last minute and so that I can rest up during the break. Filming was stressful but extremely fun. The only stressful part of the filming process was messing up on the dances and having to redo the whole scene again. On Monday, November 25, I sent out the dance video I made to my friend Allison so that she would familiarize with the dance and I showed the dance to my sister so she would be prepared as well. On Wednesday I went to my synagogue's apartment with my friends and sister since the location of the video was changed to film outside in the open field with trees and bushes that the apartment provides. At first we practiced the dance inside the apartment the full dance and decided to film the music video into 4 segments to make it easier on us. While practicing we changed up some dance moves and finalized what we were going to do in each segment. Once we finished practicing we changed into our costumes and headed our way outside to set up the camera and tripod. My friend Rahel worked the camera and was doing all the camera movements and making sure we were in frame. She did such an amazing job and we had so much fun filming and spending quality time with each other. Although we had rough patches during filming we managed to get everything done.
We spent about 2 and half hours outside filming the scenes I needed for the music video. I was able to get all the scenes and it came out perfect. While we were outside on a little box we placed my phone playing the song in the background so we knew what to do for each segment we filmed. Since the filming process took a lot of our time and exhausted us we slowly started to become irritated with each other if one of us messed up. Overall we had a fun time together my friend Allison texted me the next day thanking me for allowing her to be a part of my music video. After filming we were treated to pizza for our hard work. Since we were standing and dancing for almost 2 and a half hours outside we were extremely exhausted and sweaty when we went back inside the apartment. What I decided to cut out from my music video and the storyboard was the shots of the trees and flowers because after recording and re-watching the scenes I didn't think it was necessary anymore to be in my music video. The background in the scenes will provide a bright and nature theme to my music video. Once all our filming was complete we were jumping up and down clapping, happy that we finally finished.

Why we didn't film 😣

This weekend I was not able to check out a camera and start filming for my music video. This weekend I was overwhelmed with lots of homework, personal events, and having to do assignments for online class. I wanted to start filming the beginning scenes of my music video so I could have had a little bit of filming to do over Thanksgiving break. However, when I texted my friend about filming this weekend she was busy with work and homework so even if I wanted to start filming I couldn't film without the two actresses. My goal for filming over Thanksgiving break is to film for the entire song so that when I am editing on Pinnacle Studios I will have all the scenes and I can choose which one I think is best and then choose the section of the song that will go with the scenes chosen. But I believe that the cooler weather over Thanksgiving Break will allow us to film outside for a longer duration and the sun won't be hitting us as hard. I'm trying to convince my parents to download Pinnacle Studios at home so that over break once I finished filming I can start immediately on editing and be finished hopefully before the deadline. I want to film the trees and flowers tomorrow after school since I will have the camera. I plan on doing a choreographed simple dance in my music video so I also plan tomorrow to record a video of the dance and send it out to my friend and give to my sister to practice and perfect. I too will be practicing the dance so that everything will be perfect when it comes time to record.
My music video will be extremely similar to the storyboard however, when making the storyboard I wasn't sure of the dance and only knew how I wanted the beginning of the song to go. On the storyboard I tried my best to draw a replica of us dancing and how I wanted it to kinda go throughout the music video. But I do plan to keep the structure of my storyboard and filming the same and making sure I use all of the camera angles, shots, and movements I listed under each scene of my storyboard. My sister, friend and I this weekend at least discussed on our costumes and how we will dress up for the music video. I will be wearing a light blue dress with puffed sleeves that are laced and appropriate with a thick black belt and black slip on Bob shoes. My friend Allison will be wearing a lace long sleeve top under her light blue dress that will match the color of my dress but stand out differently due to the pink color. My sister will be wearing a floral black blouse with flowers that are the color pink, yellow-brown, and white. My friend Allison and I also discussed on the props that will be used such as the scarves and possibly the scene with my sister playing the flute. We decided that she will be responsible for bringing the props on the day of filming and choosing which scarf will be best for each of us. For makeup we decided that all of us will have a soft natural makeup because we want the audience to focus on the dance and scenery rather than on us individually.
I plan to do the filming on Thursday while everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving and cooking away. I will have plenty of time just to film and be finished with actual filming and can start writing the second filming blog that is due after the break. On Thursday I believe its the only day my friend Allison will be able to film since Friday, Saturday, and Sunday she will not be available. I want my music video to be cohesive, graceful and smooth since I want to improve from the commercial project and so that the final movie project will be easy and epic. I plan to start filming at 12 in the afternoon or around 1 in the afternoon but first I have to see with my sister and friend if that timing is good for them. Most of the time the filming will be done by the camera being on the tripod since I will not  be directing but in the music video as well. I do plan to have at least my mom be with us to make sure we are on frame and that the tilts and movements are met such as that of my storyboard. I know that the filming process will be extremely fun and challenging since there is a memorized dance being involved and close people to me that could cause as a distraction or laughter to happen a lot. I will make sure to get all the scene I need before we stop filming and check before we leave so I can re-film any scenes I need to. I can't wait to start filming over the break and have fun with the process.

Storyboard For Music Video

The first scene will be a low angle shot of the tree in my backyard and will be in the camera movement zoom and hand-held, the song will be playing in the background and the editing style will be a cutaway. The next scene is a low angle shot of the flowers with the transition from the flowers to the dancers/actresses. The soundtrack of the song will be playing in the background and will be zoomed in while hand-held. The editing style will be a Insert. The next scene is when the three dancers are seen. The scene will be a wide shot of the three girls and the camera will be placed on the tripod. The camera movement will be a tilt and the song will be playing in the background. The editing style will be a fade in and will also be a three- shot. The next scene is when the three scarves will be in the air going down. I will be hand holding the shot at a low angle while the song is playing in the background. The editing styles of this scene will be a fade in and will also be a wide shot. The next scene is back on the dancers but this time we are starting our dance. The scene will be a wide shot and three shot. The music will be playing as we dance and the camera will be placed on the tripod at eye level. The next scene consists of the dancers going the other way and will be again a wide shot and three shot. The music will be playing in the background and the camera will be on the tripod at eye level. The editing style of this scene will be a cutaway. The rest of the scenes are exactly the same except the editing style is completely different other than that everything is the same. The rest of the scenes consist of a wide shot and three shot and the camera is placed on the tripod at eye level. The music will be in the background throughout the scenes and the editing styles consist of a cutaway, fade in, and the last ending scene will be a fade out.

Music Video Planning

The location of my music video will filmed outside in my apartment backyard. In case of rain I wi try to ask the president of the building to approve us to film in the clubhouse. If we are not able to film in the clubhouse I will film inside on my balcony. I will take health and safety extremely serious since we are filming outside and because I tend to be exceptionally clumsy and so are my friends that will be in the msuic video. I will make sure to have a first-aid kit with us outside. I will also make sure that when we are dancing in the music video there will not be anything slippery or hazardous nearby.
The props that will be used in the music video will be scarves since it will be used as a part of the dance to express joy, happiness and bring brightness to nature. The scarves will also provide a sense of flow and connection with the song. My sister Sabrina in the music video will use her flute for some scenes since some parts of the song a flute can be heard in the background. The two actresses in my music video will consist of my best friend Allison and my sister. The three of us will be dressed up in either bright colored dresses or bright skirts, blouses, and plain shirts. My costume will be a long caual blue dress with lace puffed sleeves and a black belt, with my hair up and light makeup. I will wear slip on sneakers. As for the two other actresses in my music video they decided that they wanted to base off their costume off of my color and outfit.

Music Video Conventions Research

Last class we were able to finish up and submit our commercial on time at the end of class. Looking back I realized how following our storyboard really allowed us to film with a structure in our mind, so when I work on my music video I want to follow the same strategy. During the editing process for our commercial I saw and felt how much we struggled just for a 25 to 30 second commercial. I hope to become one with Pinnacle Studios and work on editing in a different approach that will not take much time. For the music video I decided to separate from my group but I will be willing to help them when they need it. I separated my group because working alone settles my mind on an idea that I already was thinking about during the commercial project. I also wanted the music video to express my deep love and interest that makes up who I am as a person. The song that I choose for my music video is called None Like You and is by Joshua Aaron and fetaures Aaron Shust. I choose this song because I wanted to express my pride in being a Messianic Jew. In the past years I always felt that I wasn't myself and was wearing a mask that never allowed me to show my true self. Even though I opened up my heart and religion to being Jewish there is still many aspects of myself and life that I need to work on. I want my music video to show my true self through dance because, truly there is no one like him. I also was able to receive this song through my synagogue and I instantly knew I had to do this song.
The genre of my song falls under Contemporary Worship Music. The camera shots I noticed that is present throughout the genre include: Two-Shot, Three-Shot, God eye view, Medium Shot, and Long Shot. There is more camera shots but I narrowed it down to what I've seen in most music videos under that genre. The camera movements present in the genre would be a Pan, Tilt, and Hand- Held. The camera angles present include: Wide shot and Eye level. The editing techniques I've researched that are used in contemporary worship music genre include: Reaction shots, Eye line match, cutaway, Split-screen. The sounds used in the genre include: Non-Diegetic sounds such as shofars most of the time used in the background but not scene on screen. Diegetic sound such as guitars, violins, keyboards, clarinets, trumpets or a chorus can be seen in most music videos under Contemporary Worship Music genre.

1. Costume: Most of the men are usually dressed in a formal attire with dress pants and shoes, button down shirt and ties. Most women are dressed formally in bright, colorful blouses, skirts and dresses.

2. Lighting: The lighting of most of the music videos are natural outdoor lighting to show happiness and joy or a very dark and dim room and on stage the bright yellow-white light shines on the singer for a performance.

3. Actors/Actresses: The music videos consist of middle aged women and men dancing or singing while playing many instruments. Sometimes teens and young children will be in the music video singing along with the adults.

4. Makeup: Men are usually not wearing any makeup and the women are shown to have light and natural makeup.

5. Props: There are not many props used but when there is most of the props include scarves, flags, instruments such as the keyboard, violin, and guitars mainly and sometimes shofars.

6. Setting: The locations and setting of most contemporary worship music genres take place anywhere outdoors, in the city or town, and on stage for a performance. Sometimes the setting can be at home showing their family depending on the meaning of the song and story behind it.

Final Editing Blog

On November 5, 2019 we finay started editing our commercial. We ended up having to edit on laptops since most the desktops either don't have internet connection, won't let you sign in or turn on in general. Last week Friday we couldn't edit since all of the laptops were being updated and needed Pinnacle Studios to be downloaded. There are some computers that still don't have Pinnacle Studios but we have a perfect amount for all my class to be able to edit. On the laptops I noticed that Pinnacle Studios sometimes lag but works like a charm. Last class we were able to at least start our editing process but took my group members and I some time. We transferred all of our 48 footages onto Jeannie Google drive but took us time to make them a file then import into Pinnacle Studios. While our footage was importing into Pinnacle Studios our teacher told us that the due for the commercial has been moved to next week Monday. However, today we got a remind message that informed us that the due date for the commerical is at the end of class on Tuesday but the blog is still due today and that the CCR questions are due at midnight on Monday. The commercial and CCR questions are supposed to be sent through email and the blog has to be published by midnight today.
Last class once all our footage was imported to Pinnacle Studios we automatically started organizing the structure of the commercial. As we were structuring our commercial we were able to trim some footage so that the commercial can be at least 25 to 30 seconds long. Pinnacle studios was a struggle since it was lagging the whole time but we managed to at least get some done. My group member Asia who wanted to be the editor was very helpful in setting up the footage the way Jeannie and I wanted them to be. Some footage are being shown in the final product even though we never dragged it down to the AV Track 2 box in Pinnacle Studios. We tried to fix the problem with multiple tools provided but it wouldn't disappear. We ended up redoing the entire thing. Once we finished structuring our commercial for the second time we were good to go. Asia the rest of class was looking at transitions and split screen options for us to use. The split screen in our commercial is the most important aspect of our commercial.
Today we had a substitute teacher but the laptops were available for us to use. Since today was a PSD day we had limited time to edit our commercial, me and my group members went to work straight away. Everything from last class was saved and what Asia and I worked on was trying to add a split screen into our commercial. We didn't add the split screen and decided to wait until Tuesday to ask our teacher about it. I ended up adding multiple fades into our commercial to reduce the amount of choppiness we had due to cutting and trimming soem footages. While Asia was trying to look for a split screen, I was on YouTube watching videos on how to add a split screen but when I went to add one it didn't allow me to click on the option. We ended up discussing who would do the voiceover and we ended up choosing Asia to do the voiceover for the commercial. We were not able to finish due to limited time but we will be able to finish on Tuesday since we already have the structure down on Pinnacle Studios. All we have to finish on Tuesday is add the split screen, add background music, and transitions. Then we have to make sure we have the exact time of 25 to 30 seconds and we wi be done with the commercial project.

Editing the Commercial

Today me and my team members were able to re-film a couple of the scenes. The scene we had to re-film were the low Angle shot and the scene of me walking while tired and me sleeping while awake with coffee. Once we finished re- filming the scenes we transferred the footage from the SD card to Jeannie computer since the school computers broke down. Today we were supposed to start editing but because the computer doesn't have internet and broke down all we could do today is wrote our editing blog. Our teacher also assigned us to transfer our footage from the SD card onto our Google Drive or onto a flashdrive. However, none of us had a flashdrive so all of our footage went onto Jeannie Google Drive. During our re-filming process  we had to do it extremely quickly since we had a blog due at the end of class. The re-filming process was quick and we were able to get all the footage we needed. Jeannie and Asia were able to direct together while I was finishing up acting in the scenes we still needed. Editing the footage will be complex since we all discussed that we wanted to do a voiceover and have a split screen in the commercial.
Jeannie and I went through all of the footage and decided which shots were the best and which one's we can delete or save as bloopers. We were able to get clear, perfect shots that we wanted in the commercial. Today my group members and I both made an outline of how we will make the commercial look like and how it should be set-up. The computers located in our classroom always have had problems such as no internet and loading slowly. Most of our computers also don't work making everyone share computers since there is not enough for everyone anymore. Our idea of the Dunkin Donut commercial is to create a commercial that is unique and different than most of there commercials. We decided to do a commercial about a student (which is portrayed by me) and how she acts different with coffee and donuts than she does without coffee and donuts. We hope that our commercial can portray everything that we will edit next class. Our Dunkin Donuts commercial is going to be an example of how teens in highschool always need or have Dunkin Donuts.
If we were able to edit today in class I believe we would have started out with recording our voiceover. Once we finished recording our voiceover we would have to find a way to transfer it to the computer and add it into Pinnacle Studios.  But before we transfer our voiceover we have to transfer all of our footage into Pinnacle Studios. Once we have all of our footage and voiceover in Pinnacle Studios we will start off by changing the color of one of the scenes to be dark grey to portray tiredness. Then we will have to add the split screen in our commercial. The split screen is the most important element of our commercial since we have been discussing about the split screen since the beginning of the project. We would also edit in transitions and cuts. Asia one of my team members is the editor of the group but all of us will contribute to help edit our commercial. Jeannie is one with the idea and concept of the commercial so she would be in charge of finalizing the final commercial. Hopefully the computers will be fixed by next class and we could actually start editing.

Filming Blog

On October 24, 2019 our class was able to start filming around our school campus and finally use the equipment that our teacher has been teaching us to use. Once we got to class we were automatically told to start getting our forms signed in order to check out all of the equipment such as the camera, camera bag, tripod, and the tripod bag. Once my group had all of our equipment we checked the battery of the camera to make sure we had enough to be able to film during the class period which we ended up having just enough. While my group member Asia was handling the equipment, I was getting my SD card which we will be using to store all of our footage. I was also preparing all the clothes I brought for each scene and making sure I brought the right clothes. Once we had everything ready me and my group member Asia signed out to get the Aice Media Studies pass which will give us access to film on campus without getting in trouble. At the time our other group member Jeannie was running late to class and she was supposed to bring the donuts and iced coffee for the commercial. So me and Asia decided to film the scenes that didn't require the iced coffee and donuts until she comes. On October 22, 2019 Jeannie she informed us ahead of time that she was going to be late the day we were filming so we wouldn't be surprised on the filming day. We were able to get most of what we needed however, we definitely need to re-film so that we can have different clips to choose from when it comes time to edit the footage.
My group members and I had a fun time filming it was definitely the best part of the project not having to deal with a lot of stress and just enjoy recording and filming. For me being the actress in the commercial was natural since i'm used to being filmed and love doing skits with my friends outside of school and in school. The only con side of filming was that it was extremely hot outside and I had to run back in forth to bathroom to change clothes for each scene but, other than that we had so much laughter and excitement during the filming process. There were times when I would laugh and we would have to do the scene over again and this happened a couple of times. Going through the filming process it felt so real for me, I actually pictured that this was for an actual commercial that would air on TV this kept me going an staying professional on camera except for sometimes. I really enjoyed that the tension between my team members got resolved because when we were filming all I felt was joy and laughter. In the past classes my group members Asia and Jeannie were conflicting each other the whole class time, it felt good to just have that creative freedom that you get during the filming process. Around 10:35 we wrapped up our filming for the day and went back to the classroom to be able to dump all our footage from the SD card onto a new folder on the computer. The dumping process was extremely easy all we did was place the SD card into the SD card reader and plugged it into the computer. Then we highlighted all the footage and dragged them into the new folder we created and waited until it was 100% finished with transferring all of it. Once we finished we only had two minutes left of class and we completed today's filming. All we have to do is re-film on Monday and dump it into the computer and we can start editing.

Storyboard Blog

Today my partners and I are creating our storyboard which is a comic representation of the entire commercial including the aspects of camera movements, camera angles, dialogue, and more. Our first six-second of the commercial consist of the actor walking to a destination at a low angle. The second six seconds consist of a wide shot and an establishing shot of the actor in pajamas sleeping on a bench in front of the school. The third six seconds is of the actor in more presentable ware such as a denim skirt, striped shirt, as well as presentable hair. Also in this third six seconds actor will talk to friends joyful while eating a donut and drinking ice coffee from Dunkin Donuts. At the 24 second mark, there will be a split-screen of the two different scenarios presented previously. The last six seconds will consist of an insert of prices of different Dunkin Donuts options.

Editing Lesson Blog

Today in class we learned the procedures to check out a camera, how to use the equipment, and how to edit on Pinnacle studios. In order to check out a camera you, first have to fill out the Equipment Agreement Form located in the cubby of our classroom. Then you will bring the form to the teachers desk, line up and wait until you receive a camera and equipment. On the Equipment Agreement Form you have to fill out all the information besides the item number. Once you receive your camera and tripod the number written on the case is the item number which you will write down on the form. Once everything is signed and you received your camera and tripod you then place your form in the class folder near the entrance of the classroom. Since our commercials will be filmed during class and on campus, we will have a media pass which everyone is obligated to sign the paper in order to film outside of the classroom. Along with the media pass every student has to have their school ID on and visible at all times in case of emergencies and codes during class. For our class we only have one SD card reader that everyone must share. To use the SD card reader you have sign it out and place the SD card from the camera into the SD card reader. Once you dumped all your footage on the computer in your personalized folder, you take out the SD card reader, take out the SD card and return the SD card reader back into the basket for others to use.
To turn on the camera all you have to do is open the viewfinder and to shut it off you just close the viewfinder. The tripod can extend it's legs however, you always have to close the tripod when moving and place everything back into their case to prevent yourself from losing the equipment. To attach the camera to the tripod take off the little attachment from the tripod and click it on to the bottom of the camera and turn until you hear the little click. Once you have heard the click tighten the attachment under the camera and place it back on the tripod. You can easily do a tilt, pan Oblique/Dutch/ Canted   shot. You could also do a hand held shot since the camera can easily fit into your hands. The camera comes with a shared SD card and a USB cord if you wanted to dump your footage at home on your computer to prevent anyone from deleting your clips. The camera takes really long to charge however, once it is fully charged the camera will last you a long time. The camera are touch screen and easy to use. You have to turn in the camera the next day when it's due back.
The editing software you will use is Pinnacle Studios 17, 18, or 19 they are all the same. Open up a new folder on your desktop and drag all you clips and footage from your SD card to the folder. You have to make sure you have to use the same computer everytime and in case any of your group members are absent you need each other's log in information. All of our editing process will be done in class on the computers. To start the editing process you have to place the SD card into the SD card reader and plug it into the computer. Look for your footages in DCIM and make sure the date and time are correct. Highlight your videos then drag it into your new folder, then click out of the SD reader and take out your SD card and place the SD card reader back. To import your videos into Pinnacle Studios you click the import tab then select your videos. To edit all you click is the edit tab at the top and it will bring you to the editing page with raw footage and 3 different AV Tracks. AV Track (1) is used for titles, AV Track (2) is for your footage, and AV Track (3) is for the sound. In order to save your movie, commercial and music video you have to save it to your folder. When you finish editing you must export your project. When exporting make sure you choose MPEG-4 and is full size SD (good quality). Once your project finishes exporting to your folder make sure to check that the video is exactly how you want it to be then close Pinnacle Studios.

Research Conventions and Codes

Our group having chosen Dunkin Donuts to be our commercial, we have seen most of their commercials on TV or on YouTube. Usually their commercials are revolved around the daily life of individuals at home, at work, or in the store. One example, is a commercial in 2019 that had a black man starring on his lunch break eating two bacon, egg and cheese croissant at the same time. Inferring to the audience of how good the sandwich is based on the fact that he is eating two of them. Another example that Dunkin Donuts uses to show how beneficially they are in people's daily life is that the commercial shows a tired, messy haired mother waking up to her kids running and screaming but smiles while she takes a a sip of her Dunkin Donuts Coffee. At the end of every Dunkin Donuts commercial they try to promote their new deal for breakfast and coffee such as the 2 for $5.00 for any breakfast sandwich and the $2.00 medium latte from 2-6 p.m.
The actors in the commercial are usually of different races, culture, classes, and sizes to show that Dunkin Donuts run on the people or families. The locations of most of the scenes are either at the store, at work in an office, or at home with a family. Most of their commercial has soft music playing in the background to get that sense that Dunkin Donuts is a comfortable, safe place. The narrator in the commercials are usually a soft spoken woman with a clear voice. The commercials end with the their logo and catch phrase so that people watching the commercial can remember the catchy catch phrase for breakfast and lunch.

Introductory

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am an 11th grader at Fort Lauderdale High School. I consider myself to be truly kind and determined, I am the type of person that will always support and protect my family and friends until the end of time. I come from a long line of Europeans, my mother was born in Belgrade, Serbia and my father was born in Salzburg, Austria. Even though I was born in America I always tell people that I have European blood since I am a proud American-European in which I grew up traveling and following customs and culture of that in Serbia. I am bilingual in which I speak English and Serbian but, I am currently learning Spanish and Hebrew. I am a messianic Jew, it was difficult for me coming from a family in which my dad is nonreligious and my mom being orthodox, however, my mom and dad both support my decision, even if my dad sometimes questions why I wanted to be one.
My dream is to become a veterinary assistant as I love animals and want to help as many animals as I can. Currently, I am a volunteer with Saving Sage Animal Rescue and to me, this was the best thing that could ever happen to me. When I am helping animals I can't help but smile and I hope that one day I can help Saving Sage Animal Rescue go international and help other animals around the world. I currently have three pets; I have a Maltese dog named Bobi, a Goldfish named Koi, and another Goldfish named Diamond. Recently my Betta fish Wildfire which I had for three years passed away but he will always be in my heart. One of my hobbies which I enjoy is baking and cooking as I feel that I can just let my creative side let loose and take over.
The current classes I am taking include Analysis and Function, Study Hall, AP English Composition, AICE Thinking Skills, AICE U.S History, AICE Media Studies, Culinary Level 3 Honors, and AICE Marine Science. This year I tried not to take as many overwhelming classes since my 10th-grade year my anxiety was like a roller coaster. This year I am super excited and can't wait to see what this school year has in stored for me.
